Post Class Reflection 4

Today's class started with the teacher presenting some example of creative writing as usual to make the class interactive. We got to learn about the diamante poem. I found this poem to be really interesting. A diamante poem is a poem made of seven lines of words that are arranged in a special diamond-like form and follows a specific formula. We were also asked to write a diamante poem. Here's my diamante poem:

Youth

Fresh, Valiant

Exploring, Learning, Wondering

Yoof, Imagination, Guidance, Recollection

Enlightening, Understanding, Unminding

Grungy, Languid

Old age

After this, the presentations started. Chandan and Siris presented on ‘Memo Reports: Structures and Writing Process’. I learnt that memo is a type of document used to communicate with others in the same organization. Memos are typically used for fairly short messages of one page or less. I also learnt how the memo is different from the letter. The group members presented the topic nicely.

After the end of this presentation, Nischal and Arya presented on ‘The Four Tusked Elephant’ by Armand Georges Denis. I found out that this essay was based on true events. After observing the presentation, I understood the value of chance in the time of scientific invention and discoveries. The quest of a four-tusked elephant made me remember a famous scientist, Newton who got curious to know about gravity as he saw a fallen apple on the ground. I also understood the benefits of single-minded activities in the time of observation and experiments.

Similarly, Kalash and Manoj presented on ‘Swan Song’, a drama by Anton Chekhov. I realized that everything pleasant now can be unpleasant later on. I learnt that we should utilize time properly and we should also think about ourselves otherwise we will have a similar condition that of the protagonist.

I felt that today's class was quite long. Though the class was interesting and interactive, I would certainly enjoy short classes.
