Post Class Reflection 6

So the day of attending ENGT class has finally arrived. Previously, we had two classes per week but due to increasing pressure from other subjects and the fact that our course of this class was nearly over, we had reduced the class to only once a week. As usual, presentations started. Anjali started the first presentation. She spoke about a travel report. I got to learn that a travel report is normally prepared by a business traveller immediately after a business trip. Its primary purpose is to document contacts made and lessons learned and to summarize overall observations and conclusions; all in a format that can be shared with others in the organization. I realized that I was wrong to think that something like a travel report can be based on casual trips too. After that, Mohit and Shubhechchhak presented on ‘Recommendation and Feasibility Report’. I learnt that recommendation report starts from a stated need, a selection of choices, or both, and then recommends one, some, o...

Post Class Reflection 5

Today's class started right on time. Immediately after joining our class, our teacher stated that we would do some collaborative works via Google Docs but after facing some technical errors we had to abandon the idea. I was sure that this would be a fun thing to do but sometimes we indeed run out of luck. Shortly after, classmates- Swarnim, Anish and Bishal started presenting on ‘Incident Report’. The presentation slide was very attractive and it was apparent that they have given some effort to the presentation. I learnt that an incident report is a tool that documents any event that may or may not have caused injuries to a person or damage to a company asset. I also got to know that it is used to capture injuries and accidents, near misses, property and equipment damage, health and safety issues, security breaches and misconducts in the worksite. I also learnt about the format and found this writing to be easy. After some questions on the first presentation, Bibek and his grou...

Post Class Reflection 4

Today's class started with the teacher presenting some example of creative writing as usual to make the class interactive. We got to learn about the diamante poem. I found this poem to be really interesting. A diamante poem is a  poem  made of seven lines of words that are arranged in a special diamond-like form and follows a specific formula. We were also asked to write a diamante poem. Here's my diamante poem:     Youth Fresh, Valiant Exploring, Learning, Wondering Yoof, Imagination, Guidance, Recollection Enlightening, Understanding, Unminding Grungy, Languid Old age     After this, the presentations started. Chandan and Siris presented on ‘ Memo Reports: Structures and Writing Process ’. I learnt that memo is a type of document used to communicate with others in the same organization. Memos are typically used for fairly short messages of one page or less. I also learnt how the memo is different from the letter. The group membe...
